Just when it seemed like summer would NEVER end, we're finally detecting a hint of autumn! Football games, homemade soup, and sweaters are just around the corner. The families that we photographed in the park on Saturday were full of energy, and we had so much fun -- even the O'Shea's dog, Tippy, seemed to flourish in the autumn breeze (check back later for sneak peeks of Saturday's sessions). This portrait, right, of the beautiful Schorgl family was taken at Grapevine Springs Park a couple years ago, but it's still one of our favorites. Thank you to all of our clients for trusting us to preserve these once-in-a-lifetime family memories!

Bob is back! Rejuvenated and excited about upcoming portrait sessions after challenging himself with a mountain hiking adventure, he is “ready to shoot” with some new and exciting ideas! This year, the Wind Rivers Mountains of Wyoming called his name, so with camera and a 60-pound backpack, he trekked 2 weeks through the Bridger Wilderness, along with a couple of longtime friends. We are glad to have him back in the studio -- tan, rejuvenated and ready to “shoot” the final 1/3 of 2010! It’s always a thrill for us when seniors that we’ve photographed return to share their excitement about their college graduation, their engagement, or even their own new young families! We celebrated with the Gavin family this summer when Sarah returned to our studio to be photographed as a University of Arkansas graduate! Sarah recently started a new job in the Dallas area, and we wish her continued success and happiness as she begins this new stage of her life!

We are blessed to be able to capture precious memories in the lives of our client families, who become like part of our own family! Like the proverbial cobbler whose children have no shoes, Bob is often so busy that he has to squeeze his own family in for a photo session, which he recently did with his 2-year-old grandson, Shane. Please indulge us as we share a few recent images of Bob and Jodie's grandchildren -- Jack, his younger brother Shane, Hunter (whose Mom, Vicki, is also a photographer here at the studio), and Ashlee. As Bob and Jodie have watched their own daughters grow up, and now their grandchildren, they appreciate how fleeting those precious moments are, and are grateful to be able to preserve family memories for clients in our own community.

We are shocked and saddened by the loss of two wonderful people to such a horrible tragedy Tuesday evening. Jayne Peters and her daughter Corinne will be greatly missed. Our prayers go out to their family and friends as we all deal with their passing.
